What ever you do, don’t buy a computer this year…
…unless it comes with a free upgrade to Windows Vista. If you don’t you’ll find yourself shelling out for the operating system twice. Once when you buy XP (preinstalled) and again when Microsoft stop supporting XP and you have to upgrade.
“Does buying a Windows Vista Capable PC mean that I will receive a free upgrade to Windows Vista? No. A PC that is Windows Vista Capable or Premium Ready means that the PC is ready for an upgrade from Windows XP. You would still need to purchase the edition of Windows Vista that you want to install on your Windows Vista Capable or Premium Ready PC.” click
“Microsoft has stated the scheduled release dates for Windows Vista are currently November 2006 for business editions, and January 2007 for consumer editions.” click
I’ll make do with this old thing until the situation improves.
