Android Developer Challenge

The ADC is Goggles way of getting developers interested in Android, their new operating system for mobile phones. When released (sometime late 2008), Android should become the best platform for application developers looking to develop Java applications for mobile phones.

More importantly Androids connectivity, openness and multiprocessing capabilities make it an ideal environment for running Snowball.

Hence, I have submitted the following applications to the ADC to demonstrate some of Snowballs capabilities in their emulator:

  • Snowball for Android
The core API and background process which turns an Android phone into a Snowball node.
  • Snowball Search
Designed to show off how quickly Snowball can search for products and services that are being advertised in the local area.
  • Snowball Date
Designed to show how Snowball can be integrated into a social networking application, where users post ads and search for other compatible people nearby.
